Greetings XWPVS forum members!
Please take a moment to read over these rules. If anyone has any issues with them, please feel free to post your reply here. They are fairly simple and shouldn't come as a surprise to any of you though. And since you have all been adhering to them, for the most part, anyway, I don't think they'll cause that much of a stir. It just doesn't hurt to post them again. (I think there is another post floating around the forum someplace but I'm not sure where.)
Here they are...
1) No flaming. It is alright to debate something, but please do not attack someone personally. Those who are caught flaming other members will be given 3 strikes and then get banned. There is no tolerance for this. Equally, posts containing flames will be closed by the moderators as soon as they appear. Please remember that Xena fans come from all backgrounds, countries, and belief systems world wide. One reason this show is so wonderful is that it has always embraced that. We ask the fans to embrace these differences too. Debate, don't attack.
2) Nothing offensive. No one has broken this rule, that I know of, so we should be ok on this. Offensive material includes strong language, pornography, racism, etc. All that stuff none of you have ever used anyway that I know of. Again, you will be given three strikes and then you will be banned. Offensive posts should be deleted by moderators as soon as they occur, if they ever do, and please let me know so I can keep track. (My email is below.)
3) This forum is meant for everyone - no matter where someone comes from or how they got here. We should all be allowed to use it equally without problems. We try to keep it technically low-tech, so to speak, so that no one has problems viewing it. Not all of us are on new computers which support the new browsers. As an example, my computer at home won't upgrade above 4.6 Netscape and 5.0 Internet Explorer and I'm not going to be getting a new one anytime soon. Equally, there are still a lot of people using a dial-up connection to access this forum.
Because of this, please keep the size of your avatar down. Animated .gifs should be no more than 50k in size. Also, regarding signatures, please refrain from more than 6 lines of text and if you want to add an image, please keep the HTML code simple and use a .gif or a .jpg. Those who chose to include a signature or avatar which is not browser friendly across the board will be asked to remove it. If you do not within one week, one of the moderators will remove your post.
Mac might add some rules I've forgotten, but otherwise, that is it. Three simple rules to follow for forum harmony.
